GoHighLevel Automation for Plumbers, HVAC, Roofers, and Tree Services

You’re on a ladder, under a sink, or in a crawlspace when the phone rings. By the time you call back, the homeowner has already booked someone else. Ads and a strong Google profile get the phone ringing. What happens in the next few minutes decides whether you get the job.

I’m Jeff, and I set up GoHighLevel automations for trades businesses in Metro Detroit and across Michigan. The goal is simple: every call and form gets an answer right away, every finished job gets a review request, and your past customers hear from you before they call someone else.

What GoHighLevel Does for a Trades Business

GoHighLevel is a CRM and automation platform. For a contractor, it puts your calls, texts, web form leads, and Facebook and Google messages in one inbox, then runs follow-up automatically based on rules we set together. You don’t have to learn the software. I build it, test it, and keep it running, and you use the phone app to reply and see your leads.

What's Included

Missed-Call Text-Back

When a call goes unanswered, the caller gets a text from your business number within moments, something like: “Sorry we missed you, this is [Your Company]. What’s going on and what’s the address? We’ll call you right back.” The homeowner gets an answer instead of voicemail, and you get a text thread you can reply to between jobs. If you run Local Services Ads, this matters even more, because Google can count a missed call during business hours as a charged lead.

Speed-to-Lead Replies

When someone fills out your website form, your Facebook lead form, or messages your Google profile, they get an instant text and email reply. You or your office get an alert at the same time. I can also set it to call you first and connect you to the lead in one tap.

Review Requests

When a job is marked complete, the customer gets a short text with a direct link to leave a Google review, and a reminder if they don’t leave one. Reviews feed your Google Business Profile and your Local Services Ads ranking. One local service business I worked with grew from 110 to 474 Google reviews, and a home audio store grew from 15 to 135.

Past-Customer Reactivation

Your old customer list is worth money. I set up campaigns that reach past customers (with their consent) at the right time of year: furnace tune-ups in the fall, AC checks in the spring, water heater checks, gutter and roof inspections after storm season, or tree trimming before winter. This is how you fill the slow season without buying more leads.

Pipeline and Lead Tracking

Every lead lands in a simple pipeline: New, Contacted, Estimate Sent, Booked, Lost. You can see what’s waiting on you and what’s been dropped. Leads from Google Ads, Local Services Ads, and your Google profile get tagged by source so you know which channel is producing jobs.

Estimate Follow-Up

Sent an estimate and heard nothing? A follow-up sequence checks in after a few days so big jobs like replacements, re-roofs, and removals don’t go cold.

Appointment Reminders

Customers get a text reminder before your crew shows up, which helps cut down on no-shows and wasted trips.

Text Messaging Compliance

Business texting in the US has to be registered with the carriers (A2P 10DLC) and needs the right consent. I help you through registration, add opt-in language to your forms, and make sure STOP and HELP replies are handled automatically. Texts only go to people who’ve opted in or contacted you first.

Setup Process and Timeline

Step 1: Map Your Process

On a call, we go through how leads come in today, who answers, what happens after an estimate, and what you wish happened automatically.

Step 2: Account and Phone Setup

I set up your GoHighLevel account and phone number, or port or forward your existing one, and start text messaging registration. Carrier approval can take time, so we start it right away.

Step 3: Build and Test

I build the missed-call text-back, form replies, review requests, and pipeline, write the messages in your voice, and test every path with real calls and form fills before anything goes live.

Step 4: Launch and Training

We switch it on, and I show you and your office how to reply from the app, move leads through the pipeline, and mark jobs complete so review requests go out.

Step 5: Reactivation and Tuning

Once the basics are running, I set up your past-customer campaigns and adjust messages based on how people respond.

How Pricing Works

GoHighLevel automation is billed monthly. I don’t publish dollar amounts. I’ll give you a clear quote on a 15-minute call. Read how my pricing works.

How It Works by Trade

  • Plumbers: emergency calls at 2 a.m. and on weekends get answered with a text so they don’t move on to the next plumber.
  • HVAC companies: fill the slow season with tune-up reminders to past customers, and keep up with call volume on the first hot or cold week. See what voicemail costs an HVAC company.
  • Roofers: estimate follow-up keeps big-ticket jobs from going cold, and post-storm messages reach past customers fast.
  • Tree service companies: crews in the field can’t answer, so text-back captures storm-damage calls, and reminders bring back seasonal trimming work.

GoHighLevel Automation FAQ

Do I Have to Learn GoHighLevel?

No. I build and manage it. You’ll use the phone app to reply to texts and see new leads, and I’ll show you how in one short session.

Can I Keep My Business Phone Number?

Usually, yes. We can forward your existing number or, in many cases, port it. We’ll go over the options on our first call.

Will Customers Know It's Automated?

The first text is automatic, but it’s written in your voice and it starts a real conversation. You or your office take over from there.

Is Texting Customers Legal?

Yes, when it’s done right: registered with the carriers, sent to people who opted in or contacted you, with STOP and HELP handled. I set that up as part of the build. This isn’t legal advice, so check with your attorney if you have specific questions.

Does This Replace My Office Staff or Answering Service?

No. It backs them up. It catches the calls nobody could pick up and handles routine follow-up so your people can focus on booking jobs.

Stop Losing Jobs to Voicemail

Book a 15-minute call and I’ll walk through how your leads are handled today and which automation would save you the most jobs first.
